The Future of Lake Forest Park

Lake Forest Park Town Center - Farmer's Market

Lake Forest Park Town Center – Farmer’s Market

The City of Lake Forest Park has many development projects and community initiatives that, after many years of work, will begin to come to fruition. The largest project will be the direct investment of approximately $330 million dollars from the voter-approved Sound Transit ST3 package. This voter-approved funding was secured by the city as an effort to capture transportation projects that benefit current residents through the collection of car tab fees.

Parking is a current issue:

  • many commuters choosing to park on city streets or in commercial parking lots;
  • recent zoning changes only require one off-street parking stall per unit;
  • many streets in the city are narrow and winding and don’t allow for parking;
  • many streets don’t have any sidewalk area in the city’s right of way, on-street parking forces pedestrians onto the street.
